RSS readers and feeders

Still undecided as to wheither the whole RSS thing is a useful service as I can usually access my daily info within a few minutes by just using 'Favorites'. Who thinks that RSS feeds are worth setting up?

BTW, How do you add RSS feeds to your blog and how do you set up RSS feeds to and from your colleagues blogs.? Thanks

  1. I think RSS is a useful tool for having the latest updates in your favourite areas - you may not have time to check related articles/publications everyday but they will be saved for when you have time to check them.

  2. I don't mind popping into them but it's not serious. If I was really wanting to find out about something I'd be googling it or checking out a database

  3. I never got into the habit of using favorites - didn't like American spelling perhaps! I certainly didn't like the very limited way in which they could be organised - very linear and non visual

I use RSS because I like the very visual way they display on my igoogle page. I also like being able to skim a large range of chosen sites without having to go click in and out.
